LaToya received her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2004 at the University of Maryland Baltimore and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2007.
Over the past 10 years while working in various orthopedic settings LaToya’s approach to physical therapy evolved through continuing education, mentors, and experience. LaToya enjoys working with a variety of patients but has a particular interest in orthopedic conditions and movement dysfunctions. LaToya successfully received her Kinesio Taping Certification through Kinesio Taping Association International. She has also recently completed Maitland I Essential Peripheral course and is eager to pioneer through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars in pursuit of a Manual Therapy certification.
LaToya’s background in dance and personal experience with chronic injuries has made her very passionate and compassionate about caring for individuals and helping them to achieve their absolute highest potential by empowering them to take an active role in their health for the betterment of their quality of life. Her treatments are based on a partnership between the patient and the physical therapist, Pilates and traditional exercise, and manual therapy and corrective therapy for movement dysfunctions.
LaToya has completed extensive training in Pilates through Polestar Rehabilitation and is currently preparing for a comprehensive certification in mat and apparatus. This particular Pilates training specifically focuses on rehabilitation which allows LaToya to meet patients at whatever level along the health spectrum they arrive and design a unique Pilates regimen based on their individual needs and clinical diagnosis. LaToya plans to continue to develop her manual therapy repertoire through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars and dry needling.
In addition to her professional endeavors she is enjoying motherhood of two beautiful girls 3 and 20 months of age, and a wife to her lovely husband. Her other interests include her personal Pilates practice, making body/hair creams, and anything that involves creativity.
